Mine shovel loader NL
Area of application
The shovel loader NL is a track loader driven by compressed air. It loads the rock mass with a shovel which is transmitted by a loading device through the main body above the connected mining truck, or when using a conveyor above a hopper into which the rock mass is thrown by the inertia force.
Structurally and with an appropriate handling it is suitable for mines with a small profile. The maximum inclination of the mine work is 8° and a minimum clear height is 2.1 metres (between the rail head and the ceiling). Suitability of handling is in the use of the loader´s weight and the speed of traction to thrust the shovel into the rock mass, which is not sufficiently disconnected and variously lumpy after blasting. Good rock composability is to the maximum lumpiness of 30x30x30 cm. In case of larger and sticky material loaded, the performance of the loader decreases. Maximum performance of 40 to 50 tonnes per hour can be achieved in loose rock, which is about the same as grit and sized 5×5 cm. Applicability of the loader on the surface is limited by weather conditions.
Operating principle
From a distance of approximately 0.5 m the NL loader with a lowered shovel approaches the disintegrated rock material. Once the shovel sufficiently digs into the material, which is supported by shaking the material, the shovel starts lifting (pulled by a chain). The lifting speed of the shovel during the process of lifting increases, which is achieved by the rolling curve of the upper carrier part of the shovel and by winding of the chain on the chain roller in the threads on an increasingly larger diameter.
At the moment of maximum speed when the shovel is above the truck or hopper, the shovel hits the springs of the crosspiece and the content of the material spills out from the shovel. While lifting the shovel the loader departs from the pile so that the shovel can return to its original loading position and again approach the material. If the material is loaded on the sides of the rails, the body of the vehicle deflects pneumatically by rotating around vertical axis so as to engage the shovel sideways. The body of the loader returns to its original position automatically when lifting the shovel.
